Welcome to your Concussion and Brain Injury Awareness level 2 course. In this first section we introduce you to the course, and how it works. We then introduce you to Helen Fairweather, who is the tutor on the course, and the chief executive of Headway Suffolk.

In this section we look at the causes of brain injuries, and the stages of a brain injury. We look into the brain in more details, and you will learn more about brain injuries, strokes, concussion, and ways in which you can prevent a brain injury.

In this section we look at the effects a brain injury can have on a person. You will learn more facts about the brain, and then we look at memory loss, communication difficulties, behavioural changes, and changes in personality. Another symptom of a brain injury can be sexual inappropriate behaviour, which we cover in the final video.

In this section we talk about rehabilitation and when there may be a need for early intervention. You will learn about how to support someone with a brain injury. Finally we talk about the project Brainy Dogs, which was set up by CEO Helen.

In this final section, you will learn more about the charity Headway. The course is then summarised, and you will be shown how to take the final test. Upon completion, you can download your certificate, your CPD statement, and your evidence based training statement.
