There are many ways that a person can have a brain injury and it can happen to anyone, at any time, without any warning. 

The trouble with a brain injury is that you cant see it unless it is an open injury, in which case we can see blood and several fluids coming out of the ears and the eyes. 

Most brain injuries are closed, and without the use of a CAT scan, you cannot see the damage that has been done. We rely on the symptoms and the people around the person with the brain injury to understand that they have a problem. 

We have one brain and we need to take care of it and look after it.
